The South Hams is home to many lovely beaches which are usually quiet. Great Mattiscombe is one of these and has the added benefit of being home to some bouldering. Landings are normally sandy, the only real problem is that it's tidal (try and go a couple hours either side of low). It should also be noted that the beach level can change dramatically, affecting the difficulty and quality of the problems. It is rumoured that many other beaches in the area have smart bouldering, although I personally have not explored these.

Great Mattiscombe Sands is found by first parking at the Start Point car park then descending the footpath to the right (i.e. west). This leads directly to a beach at the bottom. The problems are spread around the beach - have fun looking around!
