Powder Mills Bunkhouse (SX 627769)
Powder Mills Bunkhouse is a converted granite barn situated in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park, with beautiful views across the North and South Moors. It is comfortable, warm and has a friendly atmosphere.
Many people participating in our courses and holidays stay in the bunkhouse. It is an ideal base for walking groups as we have direct access onto the north moor; for kayaking groups wishing to tackle the white water rivers (10 minutes from Dartmeet, 20 minutes from The Dart Loop!) over the winter; and it is also fairly central for those who want to go bouldering on the Moor.
The bunkhouse sleeps 26 in 4 rooms (two 4 berth, one 8 berth and one 10 berth), it has a fully equipped kitchen, excellent showers and washing facilities and a very efficient drying room. There is a lounge area with a log fire and the bunkhouse is heated throughout by storage heaters. There are a number of excellent country Inns within 4 miles which offer delicious pub food or we can arrange for home cooked meals to be delivered to the bunkhouse.
