Costa Blanca Climbing
The Climbing
The Costa Blanca area has long been popular with climbers from around the world.

Whether you’re looking for single pitch routes or long, adventurous climbs you will be spoilt for choice regardless of what grade you climb. If you are planning to head for some of the bigger, mountain routes it is wise to bring a small selection of traditional gear - a few cams, a set of wires, some slings and double ropes. Those planning to stick to the bolted lines will just require quickdraws and a rope. There is also bouldering and deep water soloing on offer in the area.

When to Visit
The weather is well suited to climbing over the winter with bright, sunny days being the norm - the best months are usually between November and March.
Accommodation
The area is a famous (notorious!) and extremely popular holiday destination in the summer which means accommodation is plentiful and easy to find. There are numerous appartements available in the main holiday destinations, Calpe being particularly popular with climbers.
Q7 Costa Blanca A very comfortable and quiet appartement just outside Calpe (5 minutes into Calpe by car). Q7 is centrally located within the Costa Blanca climbing area. The Penon De Ifach, within clear view of the accommodation, is about 10 minutes by car. The crags of Altea, Olta, Mascarat and Sierra de Toix are all within 20 minutes drive and an hours drive will get you to many other sectors including Sella, Echo Valley, Puig Campana and Gandia.
The Orange House also offer a range of accommodation in a very climber-friendly location.
Courses
There are two well-established course providers in the area. Both are run by Brits.
The Orange House Run by Sam and Rich Mayfield.
Compass West Run by Rowland and Mark Edwards.
